Reno Clingan Jr., age 85 of Layton, Utah passed away July 13th, 2024 at home with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Diane Clingan, his daughters Rene Hanney, Denise (Randy) Washburn, grandchildren Tarah Taylor, Brandon Washburn, Samantha Hanney, and Hannah Washburn, great grandchildren Averie, Luke, Brooklyn, and Sawyer, and brother Charles "Chuck" Clingan. He was proceeded in death by his parents Reno and Esther "Bobbie" Clingan and sisters Bonnie King and Cheryl Fagan.
He grew up in Frederick, Maryland and had his first job parking trucks at age nine. Because of that, a love of cars and driving fast was born.
He married the love of his life, Diane, on New Years Eve 1958. With just one suitcase and a radio, they hopped on a bus and began their life together.
He served our country, being stationed all over the world, proudly for 22 years in the USAF as a member of AFTAC.
Papa always told us not to be sad. He had a wonderful life. The way he laughed without making a sound. The look in his eyes when he was teasing you. The way he could build or fix anything. He had at the very least one of every tool known to man. His delight at hearing the words "poor Papa!" and his immense love for his family. Our love and memories of him will last forever. He will always be missed.
We would like to thank Dr. Greg Goodman for the extra 25 years we got to spend with Papa, and the nurses and CNAs at Inspiration Home Health and Hospice.
