Renon Henderson Bodily

NORTH OGDEN – Renon Henderson Bodily, age 72, passed away in Ogden, Utah on Monday, July 14, 2014. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 28, 1942, the daughter of Emil E. and June McGregor Henderson.
She graduated from Davis High School, where she was a member of “Pro Schola”. She attended Weber State College.
Renon married “the love of her life” Vaughn Bodily on August 5, 1961. They spent two years in Fairbanks, Alaska when he was in the Army.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities and was editor of two ward cookbooks. Renon was also editor of “The 3 rd Ward Happenings” a monthly publication for over four years.
Renon had been a member of Utah Speedboat Association racing with her husband in the “Cracker Box Class”. She was Chairman of the Powerboat Nationals for Utah Committee. Renon and her all women committee flew to Chicago to present Utah’s bid to The American Powerboat Association and won, bringing four classes of Inboard Powerboats to Utah at Willard Bay, The New Decade Nationals 1970. She was given an award for being Outstanding Female for Region 18 by her peers. Renon was Editor of Utah Speedboat Associations monthly publication “The Racers Edge” receiving special permission from STP to use their slogan as its name.
Renon loved people and enjoyed many associations. She looked forward to the holidays with child like anticipation. She loved giving to others. She always said, “To celebrate Christmas well, for without the Birth of our Savior, there could not be the Resurrection.”
Renon’s pride and joy were her three daughters and the wonderful grandchildren they gave her.
Surviving is her husband, their three daughters, Denise (Brad) Graves, Shaunalyn (Steve) Flinders, and Melissa June Willborn (Raul); grandchildren, Laci (Mo), Levi, Cheyenne, Blake, Cole, Trevor (Michelle), Tyson (Nicole), Crystal, Mariah, Grant, and Baylee; great-grandson, Weston Bradley; sisters, Ann (Larry) Courtney Thurman and Joan (Jim) Blevins; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Emil and June; stepmother, Torma Andrus Henderson; sisters, Lona, Little June, and Kay.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
