Our loving Mother and Grandmother Retta Rae Parks Singleton Pledger passed away in Meridian, Idaho on April 17, 2013. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Arthur Lee and Opal Brown Parks on November 2, 1922.

Retta married Clair Singleton in 1939 in Brigham City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retta and Clair and their family moved to California in 1951. After Clair passed away in 1961, Retta moved her family back to Ogden. While working at DDO, she met and married Frank Pledger in 1989. They retired about the same time, and were very involved in the VFW together.

She loved dolls throughout her life, and after retirement she collected and made dolls and loved to sew clothing for her dolls. She was a wonderful seamstress all of her life.

Retta is survived by her sons, Bryan (Alix) Singleton and Jimmy Singleton; daughters, Janet (Bill) Ebert and Donna (Craig) Finch; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Danny Singleton; grandson, Trevor Singleton; parents, brothers, Edward, Robert, Paul, Bud, Dale, Wilbert, and Richard; and sister, Rosanna Laundree.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Inurnment, Ogden City Cemetery.
