Revell George

Revell George passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 7, 2016 after three battles with cancer.  He was born June 7, 1935 the son of Ormond George and Reba Dixon George.  He graduated from Tooele High School in 1953.  Revell served an LDS mission to the Southern California Mission and stake missions in Tooele, Murray, and Kaysville.  He also served in many church callings including primary and Sunday School teacher, priesthood advisor, scout master, and ward clerk.

Revell married Reva Smith on August 28, 1959. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Brigham Young University in 1960 after which he worked for JC Penney in Murray and Rock Springs.  He earned a second bachelor’s degree in Education from Weber State College in 1966 and a master’s degree in Education from BYU in 1972.  He taught in Davis County School District for 25 years and loved his students.

Revell loved to swim, and was on the Tooele High School swim team. He also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor.  He once swam from Antelope Island to Salt Air.  He also enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and hiking with his family and friends.  He was a skilled gardener and woodworker, and made beautiful furniture, bowls, and Christmas ornaments for family and friends.

His greatest joy was his family.  He is survived by his wife Reva; five daughters:  ReNae Singletary,  DeAnne Gillette, Karyn Storey,  J’Lene George,  and Michelle George;  eight grandchildren;  three great-grandchildren;  brother, Cloyd George;  and sister RaeNola George.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ormond and Reba George; son, Bryan George; and two brothers, Doyle and Reed George.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests  a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Center.
