Rex Eugene Avis of Hooper, Utah, born October 5, 1934 to Ralph and Irene Avis, passed away July 27, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He recently celebrated his 80th birthday and 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to his loving wife, Gloria and five children: Nadine Avis, Brenda (Monty) Hinojosa, Shirlene (Mike) Ballingham, Mark (Alanna) Avis and Del (Christi) Avis, He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ralph (Cathy) Avis and Jim Avis. His number one joy was his family. He endured many physical challenges all his life. Yet, he rose above them and with the help of the Lord to provide for his family. He loved the Lord and understood the Lord’s plan. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends. He was an entrepreneur, which included Car Enthusiast, Bee Keeping, Candy Factory Owner, Chinchilla Farmer, Gardener and much more. Rex has always had a great sense of humor and was the life of the Party. His memory will always bring happiness to our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 a Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, July 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Warren Cemetery.
