Rex Walker Boman

October 30, 1959 - May 18, 2017

Our wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Rex Walker Boman, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2017, with close family nearby. Rex was out for his regular morning run, doing what he loved, when he collapsed.

Rex was born October 30, 1959, to Dean and Mary Boman in Preston, Idaho. He grew up in Ogden, Utah and went to Ben Lomond High School, and later graduated from Weber State University.  He served an LDS mission in Pennsylvania. Rex married his sweetheart Lou Jean Dabling on September 20, 1984, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together he and Jean raised four children in Layton.

He was co-owner of a computer programming business named Premier Software Associates. With his gentle, kind demeanor, he left a lasting impression on those he came in contact with. Although a man of few words, those close to him knew of his jokester side. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave a lifetime of service in his ward and stake callings. If he wasn’t with his family, or on a run, you could find him over at the church. His sense of humor, technology expertise, loyalty to brands, love of sports and ice cream will be missed. Even though you are gone too soon, we miss you, we love you, and know that we will be a forever family.

Rex was preceded in death by his father, Dean Boman. He is survived by his wife, Lou Jean; his children: Derek Boman (Tiffany), Kurtis Boman (Haylie), Stacey Boman, and Melissa Talbot (Chase); his grandchildren: Leo, Walker, and Heath; his mother, Mary Boman and siblings: Scott Boman (LeAnn) and Cindy Hillstrom (Mike).

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 1589 East Gentile Street, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Sunday May 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center.
