Rex David Bouchard

Rex David Bouchard, 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 1, 1939 to David and Verda Bouchard in Ogden, Utah. After graduating from Davis High School, he joined the Utah National Guard.

On September 25, 1959, he married the love of his life Vonda Elmer in the Manti LDS Temple. They chose to raise their family in South Weber. While living in South Weber, Rex served his community as Mayor for 16 years. He also served on the South Weber City Council.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Bishop, High Counselor, and Counselor in a Bishopric.

Rex owned Bouchard Construction and Engineering Company. For 42 years Rex was responsible for engineering and building many of the water systems throughout Utah.

Rex and Vonda loved spending time together traveling and seeing the world. Spending time with his family was more important to him than anything else. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

Rex is survived by his wife, Vonda; daughter, Michele (Ben) Bowen; grandchildren, Skyler, Mckenzi, Dallon, and Trey; and sisters, Gayleen Choate and Denise Bouchard.

He was preceded in death by his sons, David Max and Richard Rex; parents; and sister, ReNae Bouchard.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the South Weber Chapel, 1401 E. South Weber Drive. Friends may visit family on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the South Weber Chapel. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
