Rex Douglas Kunzler
March 7, 1944 ~ March 26, 2016
Rex Douglas Kunzler, 72, passed away on Saturday March 26, 2016, in Ogden, Utah. He fought a long and hard battle with C.O.P.D. He was born on March 7, 1944, to David and Julia Lillian Kunzler.
He was the most giving, generous and big hearted dad, grandpa and friend, which most times was to his own detriment.
He had a great love of the gospel and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He worked as a crane operator for several years for Nelson Intermountain Crane, a job he loved until his retirement in 2008.
He enjoyed home teaching, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, Wii Bowling, bingo and watching football on TV. He would get very upset if BYU wasn’t winning.
Rex is survived by his children, Robin (Stephanie) Kunzler, Teresa (Blake) Born, Tracy Kunzler, Val (Renae) Kunzler, and Darin (Trish) Kunzler. He has 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Earl Robert Kunzler and Ralph Jay Kunzler and sisters, Iris Lillian Messervy, Joyce Mary Matthews, and Velda Kay Boekweg Chipman.
He is now reunited with his parents and siblings, Rayman Kunzler, Willard Leroy Kunzler, Hyrum Grant Kunzler, and Barbara Ann Kelly.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Willard City Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Nurse Bonnie Brown and CNA Shauna Meacham of Legacy Health Care for the loving care they gave to our dad during this difficult time.
