Rex Earl Simpson, 66, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home.

He was born August 25, 1946 in Ogden, Utah the son of Earl F Simpson and Lillian Christensen Simpson. He grew up in Hooper and graduated from Weber High school and attended Weber State College.

On September 30, 1966, Rex married Sandra Bingham in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

He was an active member of the LDS Church where he served in many callings, currently as High Priest secretary. For the past three years he served on the Hooper City Council.

He worked as a truck driver, his first job being for his grandfather Simpson on the family farm at the young age of eight and then for major trucking companies, just recently retiring from Fresenius Medical Care.

Rex enjoyed riding horses, family camping trips and trail rides in the high Uinta Mountains. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra; three children, Clay (Trudi) Simpson, South Weber; Misty (Trever) Rowser, Hooper; Marcie (Bronson) Schultz, Tremonton; eight grandchildren, Trevor, Casey, and Conner Simpson, Rylie, Ty and McKylie Rowser, Dallon and Hadlee Schultz; one sister, Ann (Steve) Johnson, Syracuse; and one brother Don (Mary) Simpson, Hooper. He was preceded in death by his parents. A special thank you is extended to Hospice nurse, Vicky and aides.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooper 2nd Ward Chapel, 5000 South 5900 West.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
