Rhea Ann Leavitt Lindsay

Layton, UT - Rhea Ann Leavitt Lindsay passed away on April 4, 2015 surrounded by loved ones.  She was born August 25, 1933 to Erma and Vincen Leavitt in Bunkerville, NV.  She Married Grant Toone Lindsay in the St. George Temple on December 17, 1955.

She was raised in Bunkerville, NV where she attended school, and received one of the few full State sponsored scholarships available.  Rhea graduated from the University of Nevada.

Rhea and Grant made their home in San Diego, CA; Pleasant View, UT; and Mesquite, NV.  Upon Grant’s death Rhea lived in Brigham City, UT; and Layton, UT, where she could be close to her children, and receive the care she needed in her final years.  Rhea was a school teacher at heart, where she spent many years teaching Kindergarten in Pleasant View and Hooper schools.  She truly loved her students.  Rhea was blessed with many talents, she loved to learn.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions throughout her life.

Rhea is survived by her children, whom will sorely miss her; sons Scott and Terry Lindsay, Layton, UT; Jeff and Nancy Lindsay, Perry, UT; and daughter Teresa and Steve Deis, Pearland, TX; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two brothers.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, all of whom she loved dearly.

A family Open House is planned for Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Bunkerville, NV LDS meeting house.  A Memorial Service will then be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Interment, Bunkerville Cemetery, Bunkerville, NV.
