Rhea Linford Weber, 98 beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Rhea was born October 25, 1925 in Afton, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Fenton Hess and Ruth Pratt Linford. She had one brother, Wayne
Linford.
She graduated from Star Valley High School in Wyoming. She also attended Utah State University where she met and married Royle W. Weber in the Logan LDS temple on April 10, 1947. The couple were potato farmers in Ashton, Idaho, then in 1958 relocated to Layton, Utah due to employment opportunities at Hill Air Force Base.
Rhea, a member of the Layton, Utah Central Ward, was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day- Saints and felt blessed to have the opportunity to serve in all auxiliaries of the church throughout her lifetime. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ but was a kind and gentle soul who loved and accepted others regardless of their beliefs. She loved to sing and participated in many choirs and small groups. She also sang many solos. Dancing was also a passion and this was shared with her husband, Royle. They attended many church dances and during their retirement years, joined a ballroom dancing group. Royle and Rhea also traveled extensively and upon conclusion of their travels, had visited all 50 states, parts of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
As she approached her later years, her motto became, “Old age ain’t for sissies.” She also suggested that her toughness came as a result of being raised on a farm in her beloved Star Valley during the Great Depression. She inspired friends and neighbors alike by her strength and spirit as she walked a mile a day; This she did despite her failing eyesight, hearing, and frailness.
Rhea will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Stevan (Pat) Weber, Cedar Hills; Kirk (Teresa) Weber, Boise, Idaho; and one daughter, Risa Bell, Layton; 11 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by; her husband, Royle W. Weber, her son, Roy L, Weber, and brother, Wayne Linford, as well as many close friends.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Layton Utah Stake Center, 60 West Gordon Ave, Layton, Utah.
Friends may visit with family, Wednesday, 12/20/2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Thursday, 12/21/2023, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Stake Center.
