Rhea Poll Westbroek 94, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, completed her earthly journey and returned to her Heavenly Father on July 11, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Rhea was born in South Weber on April 14, 1920 to Royden and Chloe Poll. She married Herman John Westbroek Jr. on November 24, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their love for each other was truly eternal, full of admiration and devotion. They spent ten wonderful years together before starting their beautiful family. Rhea loved dancing, camping and fishing. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, Lawrence Welk, the Utah Jazz, ice cream and spending time with her family and sharing all that she had with them for they were her greatest joy.
Rhea was an active member in the LDS Church and loved serving the Lord. She served in many callings, including a mission with her husband to Little Rock, Arkansas. Rhea loved serving in the Ogden LDS Temple for 20 years where she served as Assistant Matron and bride supervisor. She loved all those she served with.
She is survived by three sisters and two brothers; Dorothy Markham, Joyce Weaver, Joann Stone, Edward Poll and Max Poll. Her children; Paul (Becky), Bruce (Carla), Rodney (Joan), Scott (Debbie), Steven (Linda), Kim (Susan) Westbroek and Ann (Doug) Bitton; 34 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents, three brothers and a grandson.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Sarah, Jennifer, Heidi and Anita for their tender loving care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at the Mountain View Chapel, 2700 E. 8200 S., South Weber, UT. Friends may visit with family Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Interment, Mountain Green Cemetery.
