Rhoda L. Arbon
OGDEN- Rhoda L. Arbon, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on June 7, 2007, at the age of 82, following a courageous battle with many health problems. Mother was August 12, 1924, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of John and Eugenie Larkin.
She grew up in Willard, Utah and attended Box Elder county schools.
She married Charles A. Arbon on May 27, 1946. She raised and nurtured two children, Mike and Patty. Mother was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many special friends. Mother’s life work was inside her home.
Mother valued her many friendships and loved to spend time with family and friends. Mother especially looked forward to the Sunday visits from her family, always having a treat prepared.
Mother was especially tender toward our father when his health began to fail, becoming his loving care-giver. She set the standard for what the true meaning of love, charity, patience and perseverance is about.
Mother is survived by her two children, Mike (Delpha) Arbon and Patty (Randall) Lauenstein; two brothers, Carlyle Larkin and Steve (Dee) Larkin; and one sister, Norma Coleman. Also her grandchildren Shelly, Shane, John, Eddie, Stephanie, Angie, Sue, Scott and Tim and her great-grandchildren.
Mother was preceded in death by her beloved husband, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
In her last weeks of life she was unable to communicate verbally with us, but was still able to teach us from her heart the true meaning of love. We will be forever changed for the better because of our dear mother. “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.”
On behalf of our family, we would like to thank the wonderful people at Applegate Hospice and her many friends for their love and support.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Ogden 4th Ward, 4075 Orchard Avenue.
Friends may visit family Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
