Richard James Avondet

Richard James Avondet, age 75, of Clearfield UT, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023.

Richard was born in Ogden, Utah on June 13, 1948, to Jewel Wentworth & Earnest Avondet.  He was married to the mother of his three children. They were divorced in 1993.

Richard met the love of his life, Julie Cornia.  They were together a very short time, but the time they had together made him feel love for the rest of his life.  They loved camping, fishing, traveling, going to rodeos and just spending time together.

They were married Nov 14, 1996 in Randolph UT.  Julie passed away a short time later due to health issues.

Richard loved being in the wilderness.  He used to duck hunt, fish, and rabbit hunting when his kids will little.  Later in life, you would find him camping and fishing up in the Uintas.   He loved playing video games with Joe and Paula, and grandkids. Anyone who would answer his back up call. 

He retired from Wells Fargo after 40 years.  Starting out in facilities and worked his way up to project manager.

Richard was preceded in death by this brother, Paul Avondet; parents, Earnest Avondet and Jewel Wentworth and his wife, Julie Avondet.

He is survived by three kids, Gene Avondet (AZ), Joe (Stacey) Avondet, UT, Paula (Warren) Sutton, NM; his grandkids; siblings, Jerry (Louise) Avondet, UT, JoAn (James) Steele, CO, and Vivian Avondet, UT.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Randolph City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

We want to give a special loving thanks to his son Joe.  He was always there by his side in the end. From doctor appointments, grocery runs, and taking his call anytime of day.  He will always be remembered by his dad for always being there for him.  To his daughter, Paula for taking him into her home for a month at a time when he came down to visit.
