Richard Benavides, 85, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home.

He was born January 14, 1932 in Del Rio, Texas to Esiquio and Dominga Cardenas Benavides. He attended school in Del Rio and came to Utah in 1948.

Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

On February 21, 1952, Richard married RaNae Stone in Brigham City, Utah. They have been married 65 years and resided in Hooper for 47 years. From that union three children were born, Linda Mae B. Stevens (Des); Randy Richard (Lydia) Benavides, West Haven; Victoria Ann B. Weyburn, Jacksonville, FL.

He is survived by his wife, children, nine grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, two sisters, Dale Hocker, Burnet, TX; and Lilly Owens, San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
