Richard Henry Burgin

Richard Henry Burgin passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from cancer.  He was born February 22, 1934 in Centerville, Davis, Utah, to Lester and LaVaun Burgin.    He was the older brother to Dennis and Carol (deceased).

Richard married Gwen Oleson in the Logan Temple in 1953 and they raised their children:  Ann, Wendy, David, Steven, Dixie, Paul, Doug, and Tricia.  They were later divorced.  Richard married Faye Evans in 1983.  Faye has four children:  Brent, Deborah, Jeanine, and Sherrie.

Richard graduated from Davis High School and worked at Hill AFB for 30 years.  He loved scouting, water skiing, wood-working, and fixing TV’s.

Richard is survived by his wife Faye, his brother Dennis, eight children, Ann (Brian Monson), Centennial, CO; Wendy (Brad Thompson), Bountiful, UT; David Burgin, Bountiful, UT; Steve (Teri) Burgin, Orange, TX; Dixie (Jay Vance), North Salt Lake, UT; Paul (Terri) Burgin, Abbeville, SC; Doug (Kari) Burgin, Bountiful, UT; Tricia (Eric Albrechtsen), Queen Creek, AZ; 34 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the West Point Cemetery, 80 No. 4000 W., West Point.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 10 to 12 noon at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Dad’s kindness, his gentleness, and his decency will be remembered by everyone.  He will be missed.
