Richard C. Clarke, 81, passed away on July 15, 2013, of causes incident to age. Richard was born on May 1, 1932 in Ogden, Utah, to C. Clarence and Elma Stromberg Clarke. He lived his whole life in Ogden.

He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College. He spent four years in the Navy serving our country.

Dick married Marilyn Hock on March 5, 1960 in Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with one daughter, Paula, and one granddaughter, Samantha "Sam".

He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for four years. He then went to work at Thiokol and retired after 35 years.

Dick belonged to the Ogden Coin Club. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Sam. He took pleasure in watching Samantha play soccer and guitar, and going to his niece and great-nieces softball games. Dick enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone, golfing, metal detecting, and the Utah Jazz. He looked forward to his nightly visits on the front porch with his friend, Claude and his furry friends.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Paula (Jason) Vaughn; granddaughter, Samantha Mary Vaughn; brother, Darrell (Debbie) Clarke; sister, Barbara (Gary) Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the George E. Wahlen Veteran''s Home, 1102 North 1200 West, Ogden, UT 84404.
