Richard Dean Evans, 57, passed away from Lung Cancer on Saturday, February 23, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born in Ironton, Ohio, on June 26, 1961, the son of Dixie and Saundra Olund Weyburn. He grew up in Ogden, UT where he attended and graduated from high school.
He served in the Army from 1984 to 1996 when he was honorably discharged..
Richard married Becky Dean in 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada and were later divorced. He married Diane Lee in December of 1987 in Ogden, Utah and they later divorced. He married Tina in West Haven, Utah on November 29, 2003. They were able to enjoy 15 years together.
He worked for Petersen Inc. for 19 years as a warehouse manager. Richard enjoyed being on the computer, going to yard sales, being outdoors, but mostly spending time with his family. His family was very important to Richard. He had a big heart and served and cared for others.
Richard is survived by his wife, Evelyn “Tina” Evans of Roy; sons, Cory Max Evans of Washington Terrace, Cody Matthew Evans (Lauren Schultz) of Clinton, and Trevor Burt (Stephaine) Smalley of Roy; daughters, Judith Abbie (Gino) Rubalcava of Clearfield, Shalynn Illene (Clint) Moser of Layton; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Donald Joseph Evans of Ogden and Robert G. (Carolyn) Evans of Clinton; and sisters, Deni Kristine (Cecil) Clement of South Ogden; Debbie (Angie) Evans of Ogden; Rebecca “Becky” (Keith) Honing of North Ogden; Laura Amella Evans of Roy; and April Anne Evans of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dixie Dean “DeDe” Evans.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
