Richard Fagg

Richard Carlisle Fagg passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, due to causes incident to age.  Richard was born October 6, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LaVarr and Ardella Heugly Fagg.  He spent his youth in East Millcreek where he learned the value of hard work on the family farm.  He graduated from Granite High School then, enlisted in the National Guard.  He graduated from the University of Utah in Business and Finance.  He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served a mission in the Central States Mission from 1954-1956.  He served faithfully and actively in the church throughout his life, including Bishop of a ward he loved.

Richard married Haddie Hofman in the Salt Lake Temple in February 1957.  They have five children, Stacy, Jeff, Carrie, Mesha, and Josee.

After graduation, Richard went to work for International Paper where he excelled in sales.  Richard became a Vice President of Fashion Fabrics and loved taking family members on buying trips.

Richards’ love of business and people lead him to start his own businesses including The Fabric Shop, The Video Shop, a dairy farm and a crop farm in Rupert, Idaho.  All the family members enjoyed working hard in the family businesses.  Richard loved horticulture working to always improve his fruit growing and gardening skills.  He loved to travel abroad on family vacations.  He enjoyed camping with his children and grandchildren.  Richard was always generous and loved to help others.

Richard is survived by his wife Haddie Hofman; his five children: Stacy Fagg Collier (Kevin), Jeffery W. Fagg (Nancy), Carrie Fagg Workman, Mesha Fagg, and Josee Fagg Garrard (Alan), 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 No. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, Utah.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
