KAYSVILLE a€" Richard Carl Hendricksen, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 16, 2011. He was born June 20, 1924 in Magna to Garland and Vera Fairbourn Hendricksen. Richard grew up in Draper, graduated from Jordan High School then received an accounting degree from the University of Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Richard married Barbara Dawson, the "catch" of his life, on August 14, 1950 in the Manti Temple. He was a loving husband and father and a faithful member of the LDS Church. After retiring, Richard and Barbara served an LDS Church service mission.

Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing, snowmobiling and spending time at the cabin. He loved being with his family, relaxing with his pets, and visiting with friends. He was very kind and generous and had a wry sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, three daughters, Lisa (Cory) Willis, Centerville; Anne (Lee) Cammack, Kaysville; Laura (Jamon) Jarvis, Fruit Heights; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jerry (Diana) Hendricksen; and Garland "Jay" (Colleen) Hendricksen. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 18th Ward, 1085 N. 50 E. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
