Richard Huntington

Richard W. Huntington "Old Dude"

Richard was born on October 12, 1947 to Warren Huntington and Enid Gottfredson Huntington. He was raised by his second mother, Ruby Draper Huntington. He graduated from Olympus High School, attended the University of Utah, and Trade Tech. He served in the Vietnam War.

As a master electrician, he worked for several different companies, and spent most of his years working for IHC at LDS Hospital. His co-workers will remember him showing his Irish on St. Pat''s by dyeing his beard green and dressing as a leprechaun.

He is survived by Linda, the love of his life and wife of 38 years, his daughter Jamie (Hassing), his son Tod, his son-in-law Rob Hassing, brothers Jim (Betty) Huntington, Robert (Sheila) Huntington, and sister Susan (Wayne) Garner. Preceded in death by his father and both mothers, and sister Iris. Died December 20, 2008 of complications of diabetes.

His family would like to thank Intermountain Medical Center and all of Richard''s doctors for the excellent care they have given. Because Richard believed there was nothing that could not be fixed, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Foundation.
