Richard M. Kelly, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2011. He was born on January 27, 1935 in Helen, West Virginia. He married the love of his life, Cornelia Ann Custer on February 1, 1957 in Roanoke, Virginia. They are the parents of three wonderful children.
Richard served proudly as a member of the U.S. Air Force, retiring in January, 1986 after thirty-one years of service. He also served as a civil servant at Hill Air Force Base for ten years. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church, and served faithfully as a deacon for many years. He was greatly loved by his church family.
Richard is survived by his wife, his sons Arnold (St. Louis, MO), Gerald (Layton), and daughter Cindy (Earl) Baker (Layton), nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Wallace (Nancy) Kelly (Daleville, VA).
Richard was greatly loved by his family. We were truly blessed to have him as a husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church, 2585 E. 3000 N. (Hwy 193), Layton. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden.
