Richard Charles Locher

Our beloved "Pappy" passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loving wife and family on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. We pray our fond memories will provide us solace and comfort in his absence. His strength and presence in our family will truly be missed by all. Richard was born April 30, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois to Ulrich and Katherine Gress Locher. On October 22, 1960, he married Sandra Hunter. Richard worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Roy Post Office. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing. Most of all he loved his family and grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife, Sandra; three sons, Richard Charles (Chuck) Locher, Kevin Joseph Locher, Steven Frank Locher; a daughter, Shawna Marie McKinney; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelise Locher. Friends and family may call Saturday, January 17th from 3 to 5p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
