Richard Julius Michael
CLEARFIELD a" Richard Julius Michael, 90, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 5, 1918 in Rochester, New York the son of Julius Hermann and Hedwig Prautzsch Michael.
Richard served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He married Wilda Rosetta Kay Nicholas Michael on November 4, 1977 in Clearfield.
Richard joined the LDS Church in Hawaii and he was a high priest in the 10th Ward Clearfield, Utah.
He had many interests and jobs and affiliations: CCC- Civil Service Conservation Corp, Marines, police work, Boy Scouts, Jeep Patrol, deer hunting, painter, Quality Control Technician at HAFB a" retired, ranger, VA, Moose, Confederate Air Force, Hostler''s Model Train Club, Painted Rocks Mining Incorporated and NRA.
Surviving are his wife Wilda, children, Robert J. (Beverly) Michael, Santa Monica, CA; Diane (Jim) Clark, Glendale, AZ; Carl R. Michael, Glendale, AZ; Charles C. (Carma) Nicholas, Tremonton; Kay (Ruth) Nicholas, Porterville; Kathleen (Jim) Higgins, Clearfield; Chris (Deborah) Nicholas, Mt. Green; David (Linda) Nicholas, Porterville; Jessie (Vicky) Nicholas, Deweyville; Kelly Nicholas, Rawlins, WY; and over 100 descendants.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, two former wives and two step-sons.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 8th Ward, 300 No. 200 W. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery, 1000 W. 1290 So. Syracuse, Utah.
