Richard (Rick) John Espinosa, 68, passed away Monday, April 3rd, 2023. He was born February 6, 1955, in Ogden, Utah to Bob and Flora Espinosa. He met the love of his life, his hunny bunny, Gina Martinez in 1982.
Rick was a proud Marine Corp Veteran. He retired from civil service at Hill Air Force Base after 30 years. He loved music and live concerts. Anytime there was a song playing, Rick would undoubtedly be dancing and pulling family close to dance with him. He was the life of the party and could always be counted on to bring the best music to it. Rick also loved sports, both watching and playing them. He was an avid Utah Jazz, Chargers, and Padres fan, as well as a great softball pitcher and player (playing until he was 66 years old) and ardent golfer. He started what began and continues as the “All Friends Golf Tournament Memorial.” Rick loved his family and enjoyed cooking the most delicious food for them often at big and small gatherings. He took care of everyone – to be Rick’s friend was to be his family, and he instilled that deep love into each person he met. He was a proud son, brother, husband, father, cousin, friend and papa!
He is survived by his spouse, Gina Espinosa; his children, Jeremy Espinosa, Jesse (Megan) Espinosa, Frankie (Brittney) Espinosa, Michael Espinosa, Erika Espinosa; his siblings, Lefty (Maryann) Espinosa, Claudie Espinosa, Gilbert (Cindy) Espinosa, Connie (Stan) Payne, Becky Smith, Freddie (Amber) Espinosa, Melanie (Ambrosio) Salazar; and five grandchildren.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Flora Espinosa; brother, Joe Espinosa; and his loving in-laws, Frank and Vickie Martinez.
