LAYTON- Richard Wayne Ripple, age 67, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn, and sister, Joyce Rauch. He is lovingly remembered by his children Jennifer (Ryan) Tracy, Dan (Kristie) Ripple, Eric (Meleana) Ripple, and 13 grandchildren.
Richard was born January 8, 1949 in Artesia, California, to John and Phyllis Ripple. He married his sweetheart, Evelyn Pearson on February 12, 1981, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Richard was a hard worker whose career was cut short fifteen years ago due to disease and pain. He had a heart of gold and was always giving something to someone. He loved to travel and enjoyed cruises to Alaska and Norway, and road trips to many sites of interest. He enjoyed talking and could strike up a conversation with almost anyone. He loved Elvis music, John Wayne movies, and watching professional bull riding. His family was always foremost in his mind and time with his children and grandchildren was a highlight. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his testimony of a real and loving Father in Heaven got him through many rough times. He always served faithfully in his callings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 am in the Forest Ridge Chapel, 1945 East Antelope Drive, Layton. Friends and family may gather Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Road, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
