Richard Myron Russell

Richard Myron Russell was reunited with his wife on the morning of January 13, 2016. He passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah surrounded by loved ones. Richard (better known as Dick) was born on August 30, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to Myron C. Russell and Lillian Taylor.
He served in the Army during World War II; he was a proud serviceman and loved his country. He married the love of his life, Dora Buck on August 2, 1948 and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. Richard enjoyed camping, hiking with his wife, and working in his garage. He was very wise, there was nothing he couldn’t do and he always had an answer for everything. Richard worked at Kennecott Copper and later moved on to HAFB where he worked for 28 years before retiring in 1987. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa and will be dearly missed.
Richard is lovingly remembered by his children, Susan Diersman, Debra (Ernie) Martinez, and Steve (Lisa) Russell; five grandchildren, Kandy, Jason (Jenn), Angie (Brent), Aisha (Robert), and Jade; three great-grandchildren, Jaden, Draven, and Jennah; and his brother, Spencer (Larae).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; his daughter, Jeanne; his brother, Joseph Eugene; his sister, Charlene and his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
