Richard “Dick” Allen Scheese, 81, of Willow Springs, Skull Valley, Utah, passed away at Life Care Center, in Bountiful, Utah on April 23, 2013.
Dick was born in Trenton, New Jersey, July 13, 1931 to Arthur Fredrick Scheese and Augusta Louise Clements. Joined the Marines at age 17 and retired a Master Sergeant after 22 years. He served in the Korean War and was part of the Chosen Reservoir Campaign becoming one of the “Frozen Chosen” and completed two tours in Vietnam.
Dick worked in construction and later as a security guard for the Civil Service in Dugway. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Veron Beef Project and was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He loved his country, helping people and serving in his community. He was a volunteer fire fighter and was active in the Utah Peace Officers Association. He enjoyed westerns, especially John Wayne.
Dick was married to Patricia Lewis Scheese, later divorced. Dick is survived by children, Rick (Carolyn) Scheese, David Scheese, Christine Scheese, Thomas (April) Scheese, and step daughters, Jean (Mike) Ressler and Jackie Marsh (deceased), grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 29, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Bountiful. Viewings will be held on Sunday, April 28 from 6-8 pm at the mortuary and on Monday from 9:45- 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah.
