Richard Austin Seager

April 8, 1936 — July 2, 2022

Richard Austin Seager, age 86, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Richard was born on April 8, 1936, in Logan, Utah to C. Austin Seager and Fern Louise Barrus.

 

He met Carolyn Vera Zinn and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1956. Together, they had 4 sons, David, Paul, Nathan, and Matthew; and 2 daughters, Susan and Jeanette.

 

Richard worked as a surgical technician and earned his Master’s Degree in Biology. He taught at Davis High School and later started his own machine shop, Seager Mfg.

 

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. He was always willing to help someone in need and was a wonderful home teacher. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend.

 

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; parents, C. Austin and Fern Seager; and sister, Sharron Eastes.

 

Richard is survived by his 6 children, Susan (Mark) Watson, David (Julie) Seager, Paul (Shellie) Seager, Jeanette (Kenton) Frandsen, Nathan (Sydnee) Seager, and Matthew (Angie) Seager; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Aldo (Lauraine) Seager, and Paul (Diane) Seager.

 

A Graveside Service will be held for the family at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Drive, Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 to 10:00 am, on Wednesday morning at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street.  Interment, Kaysville Cemetery.

 

Special thanks to the owner and staff of Beehive Homes of Syracuse, and to all the hospice nurses and staff that attended to Richard over the last 4 ½ years, and during his final days. They showed an abundance of love and compassion.
