Richard Marven Tanner, 87, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born March 1, 1923 in Parker, Idaho to William LeRoy and Katherine Lauder Tanner. He graduated from St. Anthony High School.

On November 16, 1948, Richard married Evelyn M. Huff in Baker, Oregon. They moved to Ogden, Utah in 1951.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Richard worked at Hill Air Force Base for 35 years and Bon Marche for 20 years.

He enjoyed basketball, fishing and hunting. Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn; two sons, Wallace (Claire) McCulloch, Uintah; Donald (Michelle) Tanner, Roy; three daughters, Mary (Noel) Jacobson, Roy; LaWana (Dan) Cameron, North Ogden; Christine Hoskins, Washington Terrace; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Cotton, Mariposa, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
