Richard Arthur Voreis
KAYSVILLE / OGDEN a" Richard Arthur Voreis was born Dec. 15, 1928. He was the youngest of four children born to Arthur Raymond Voreis and Geneva Avon Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Iris, Ross, and Mildred. He was raised in the small farming community of Lakeport, CA.
At 6''7'''' he played basketball on his high school and college teams. He married Barbara Maureen Purser Oct. 12, 1952. They settled in San Jose, CA. He joined the LDS Church in 1954. They were blessed with three children. In 1977 they moved to Ogden, UT. Richard served as bishop of the Ogden 48th ward. He served a mission with Barbara in South Dakota. They served as Ogden Temple workers. He worked for LDS Welfare Services until 1993. Richard enjoyed family, genealogy, dancing, crossword puzzles, and homemade ice cream.
Richard passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009. He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara, of 56 years, children; Jennifer Davis (Kevin), David Voreis (Allene), Ann Garner (Brian); 15 grandchildren, and six (soon to be 10) great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Kaysville Crestwood Chapel, 1039 East Crestwood Road. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
