Richard Martin Walentiny
Richard Martin Walentiny, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born on November 16, 1941 to Henry Charles and Gertrude Agnes Fels Walentiny in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 1961 Richard joined the Air Force. With the Air Force he was stationed at Lackland AFB, Texas; Grisson AFB, Indiana; Guam; Beale AFB, California; Dover AFB, Delaware; and Hill Air Force Base, Utah, where he worked as an Aircraft Electronics Technician until he retired in 1981.
Richard married Marion Sharleen Johnson on November 9, 1963. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2006.
He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Richard loved spending time in the outdoors whether it was camping, fishing or hunting with friends or family. He had a knack for leather crafting and would share with those he loved.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Edward Walentiny, South Milwaukee, WI; Vernon (Patricia) Walentiny, Port St. Lucie, FL; and sisters, Carol Wilda, Crest City, IL; Margaret (Robert) Wagner, Las Vegas, NV; and Phyllis (Thomas) Sericati, South Milwaukee, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion and parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
