Richard Brent Weaver, Sr.

KAYSVILLE - Richard Brent Weaver, Sr., 87, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007, from injuries sustained in an auto accident, returning to the loving arms of his wife and daughter. He was born March 15, 1920 in Layton, Utah to Don A. and Phoebe Rushforth Weaver, and was raised and educated in Davis County; graduating from Davis High School in 1938.

Dad married the love of his life, Marion Eleanor Wells on February 27, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marion passed away December 18. 1969. As a member of the LDS Church, Richard served in various callings throughout his life.

Dad was a pilot in the Air Force for 7 years and served for 30 years in the Air Force Reserves. Dad and his brothers owned and operated Weaver Auto Repair in Layton. He then taught Auto Body and Mechanics at Job Corp, and later at the Utah Technical College. He enjoyed driving, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his 6 sons, Richard, Kaysville; Roger (Stephanie), West Point; David C. (Karen G.), Layton; Doug (Theresa), Warren; Paul (Alora), West Haven; Phillip, Kaysville; daughter Kathy (Roger) Dickson, West Point; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers, Rex (Thelma), Fairbanks, AK; Duane (Kae) and Don (Faye), both of Layton; Travis (Beverly), Hooper, and sisters JoAnn Sandall and June Hayes, both of Kaysville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marion, daughter Kristine, brother C.J. and sister Merrillee. Dad was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved his family dearly, never missing a birthday, always willing to share his wisdom and life lessons. Your lessons will stay in our hearts forever. We love you.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 S. 600 E. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
