Richard B. Wheelock
“Dick”
I was born in the little mining town of Mammoth, Utah January 22, 1928 to Earl Richard Wheelock and Thea Elizabeth Olsen Wheelock. I lived in Mammoth until I graduated from high school and then joined the Marine Corps. The most fortunate thing I did in my life was to marry Eleanor Jackson June 13, 1953. Our marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
She preceded me in death April 11, 2002.
My children made me beam with pride and my grandchildren were the joy of my life. I was privileged to be born in the choice country of America, and I had the gospel of the restored Church of Jesus Christ to guide me. I served in the Marine Corps in WWII and the Korean War. I am a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Marine Corps League.
Survived by children Roxanne Bowers, Bruce (Alyson) Wheelock, Brett (Paula) Wheelock and Troy (Kim) Wheelock; nine grandchildren and six great-children.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice and Visiting Angels for their kind, loving and respectful care. We will all miss them!
