Rick Stuart Peterson
May 30, 1960 ~ March 24, 2016
Rick Stuart Peterson passed away on March 24, 2016 at McKay Dee Hospital. Rick was born on May 30, 1960 in Ogden to Don and Sharon (Parker) Peterson. He grew up in Ogden with his brother Scott and sister Kelly. He attended Ogden City Schools, where he wrestled and played football, graduated from Ogden High School class of 1978.
On June 1, 1985 he married Michelle Stagge. They lived and raised their children in Plain City. After a few years Rick and Michelle moved into her grandparent’s home. He worked tirelessly for years to remodel and make a beautiful home for his family. Rick was constantly busy, there was always a project or something that needed to be done or fixed.
In 1987, Rick was finally able to adopt his first son, Cody. He was determined to complete this process and make Cody his own. Two more children followed to complete Rick’s family: his firstborn, Tyler, in 1986, and his baby girl, Kellyn, in 1988.
Rick worked as a C-130 sheet metal mechanic and supervisor at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years, retiring in 2015. He made so many wonderful friends that he spoke very highly of.
Rick loved to fish and his favorite place was on his boat. He also enjoyed yearly family hunting trips with his “brother” Gene.
Rick is survived by his wife, Michelle and his children, Cody (Mandy) Peterson, Tyler Peterson, and Kellyn (Mark) Spear. He is also survived by the three lights of his life, his grandchildren, Korbin, Grant, and Tylie Peterson. He also leaves behind his brother, Scott (Jann) Peterson and his sister, Kelly (Gene) Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Beckie; as well as recently by his father-in-law, Floyd Stagge.
Rick made a monthly contribution to Primary Children’s Hospital, so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rick’s name to this organization. Additionally Rick was supportive of anatomical donation and generously gave the gift of sight as one of his last blessings of service to others.
We will miss Rick. We love you. Thanks for taking care of all of us.
