Ricky Barnard passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at McKay Dee Hospital.

He was born November 7, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Dorel and Shirley Barnard. He graduated from Roy High School, attended the University of Utah and graduated from Weber State University.

Rick served for seven years in the U.S. Air Force working in the medical field. For the past 33 years he worked at Barnes Aerospace in Ogden. Rick was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two year mission in the Oklahoma Mission. He held various leadership and teaching positions. He loved to sing in the ward choir.

Rick loved playing the trumpet, fishing, golfing and spending summers at the family cabin at Bear Lake.

He was previously married and later divorced. On March 2, 1984 he married Kathy Lubereski in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rick is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Ryan (NaLoni) Barnard; Christopher (Marie) Barnard; Brandon Barnard; Jami (Zack) Weaver; one brother, Jon (Diana) Barnard; two sisters, Julie (Pete) Greenwald, Amy (Vaun) Kohler, and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Dorel, brother, Larry and twin grandchildren, NaTallia Kloie and Chandler Ryan Barnard; grandparents, Clarence and Rose Starkey and Homer Florance Barnard.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Roy West Lake Chapel, 2915 West 4425 South. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
