Rita Gloria Ramos Magaña

Rita Gloria Ramos Magaña, age 82, passed away the night of January 9, 2020 in Plain City, Utah due to natural causes. She was born November 3, 1937 in Saltillo Nuevo León, Mexico to parents Casimiro Ramos and Guadalupe Perez. She married her love and best friend, José Angel Magaña of 57 years.

Before retiring, she shared her love with food, as she and her husband owned many restaurants in Idaho and Utah. She then passed on this love as she taught her grandkids to make her delicious tamales. Known by many for her love of gardening, she could be seen day in and day out in the yard, tending to her flowers.

Rita is survived by her husband José Magaña, her four children: Hector (Angie) Ramos of Ogden, Utah; Joe (Cheryl) Magaña of Winchester, Tennessee; Jessy (Jackie) Magaña of Las Vegas, Nevada; Anita Magaña of Plain City, Utah; her sisters Eloisa Marquez of Caldwell, Idaho; Maria Ochoa of Napa, Idaho; Armandina Cruz of Fresno, California; and Angie Vargas of Avondale, Arizona; 18 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents; her sister, Ludivina Alvarez, and daughter Maria Del Rosario Magaña.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
