Rita L. Wiley

Reta “Rita” L. Wiley, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Heritage Park Care Center. She was born February 13, 1918 in Oakley, Utah to Ferdinand and Violet Jensen Larson. On September 16, 1938, Rita married Max R. Wiley in Wanship, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many organizations including, Relief Society President for three years and nine and half years as an Ordinance Worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. Rita also served as President of the Sweet Adalines Barbershop Chorus. She enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting and bowling. Rita is survived by three daughters, R. Diane (Jack) Edwards, Ivins; Ilona M. Nitz, Albuquerque, NM; M. Minette (Douglas) Handy, Syracuse; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandhildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Brenda Jeannine, at the age of 12 and two brothers, L. Kale Larson, Clinton A. Larson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse Center Ward Chapel, 2228 South 1660 West. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:30 o 10:45 a.m., at the church.
