Ritchie Leland Crabb

May 22, 1954 — October 28, 2024

Ritchie Leland Crabb passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on October 28, 2024 as he succumbed to his seven-year battle with cancer.

Ritchie was Born May 22, 1954 in Salina, UT to Charles Dean and Marcheta C. Hatch Crabb. He was raised in Antimony, UT for the first ten years of his life before moving to Ogden. Aside from his time in Antimony and a short stint in California, Ritchie spent his life living along the Wasatch Front.

He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1972 and attended Weber State College. He remained a proud Scot throughout the years despite the fact that all five of his children graduated from Ogden High.

Ritchie was blessed to spend the last 51 years married to the love of his life, Lynn Lyons Crabb. They were sealed for time and eternity on August 18, 1973 in the Ogden Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ritchie had many jobs over the years but he was an entrepreneur at heart and ran his own businesses from 1992-2016. He retired in January of 2024 after working for several years at Maverick.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many capacities.

Ritchie was happiest when he was with his family; he loved them beyond words. He especially loved his grandchildren who affectionately called him “G-Pa”! In addition to his immediate family, Ritchie was a father figure and mentor to so many. From the friends of his children, foreign exchange students, scouting, work colleagues, etc., he impacted the lives of countless others for good.

A few of his favorite things to do were boating in Lake Powell with his family, riding his Harley across the country with his sweetheart Lynn and spending time in southern Utah where he grew up. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. He loved donning his suit, ringing his bells and bringing joy to those he interacted with as Santa Claus.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Lyons Crabb of Syracuse UT, his five children and fifteen grandchildren. Emily Harris (Tom) – Brinkley Cameil, Ashley Grace, Colter Thomas and Wyatt Lynn of Kaysville, UT. Brett Crabb (Siu Wan (Wendy)) – Jaxon King and Lyla Blue of San Marcos, CA. Cameron Crabb (Monica) – Harley Jean, Eliza Mary and Beck William of Bentonville, AR. Shannon Galvez (Shay) – Aspen Emily, Oaklee Lynn, Trinadey Shay and Slade Dean of West Haven, UT. Shawn Crabb – Serenity Snow and Liam Thomas of Syracuse, UT.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents Dean & Marcheta, his in-laws Bryant & Thelma Lyons, and brother-in-law Bill Brown.

Ritchie wanted to publicly thank the many doctors, nurses and hospice care workers that have taken such good care of him over the last seven years. Specifically, Dr. Michael Hessenauer, Dr. Gary Whipple, Dr. Jacqueline Lloyd and all of the nurses in the infusion lab at the Layton IHC Hospital.
