Robert Allan Davis was called home to his Heavenly Father on May 9, 2024, in Syracuse, Utah at the age of 89. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Robert (Bob) was born January 18, 1935, to Virginia Lillian Palmer and Edward Aubrey Davis in Detroit, Michigan. He later moved to Hemet, California. In 1957, Bob married Donna Lou Bolin. Together they shared one of the greatest love stories of all time. Bob and Donna raised seven beautiful children. Laurie Anne (Ian), Robert (Laura), Heidi (Glen), Bradley (Sandi), Allison (Darren), Matthew (Melissa), and Emily (Spencer).
Bob and Donna ran a successful contracting business, but Bob was more well-known as a master electrician. Over the years, he mentored dozens of employees and family members. In Bob’s free time, he enjoyed boating, RVing, swimming, and most of all, flying his airplanes.
In 1961 Bob and Donna joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob served generously with his time, talents, and efforts to support its growth and administration. He was soon a leader within the church and served in many capacities such as Bishop, stake presidency counselor, and dedicated temple worker. Bob was also a diligent missionary. He served five missions and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Bob was also known to be generous, compassionate, and loving. His greatest love was his family. He had 29 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Every grandchild was his favorite and every grandchild knew it. He never missed an opportunity to treat his grandchildren to a Thrifty’s ice cream cone, McDonald’s sundae, or a salad bowl sized portion of ice cream at home. There was nothing like being tucked into bed by grandpa while he sung “You Are My Sunshine”. Bob, you are our sunshine.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the chapel of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 700 S 2500 west, Syracuse, Utah.
