Robert Barger passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 20, 2015 at Peachtree Place Assisted Living. Bob was born on November 3, 1915 in Golconda, Illinois to Frank and Mabel Barger. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years retiring in 1958.
Bob was a devout member of the Catholic Church. He loved golfing, fishing, and bowling. Also watching all Chicago sports teams and the Utah Jazz. He loved watching Tiger Woods golf and recently became a big fan of Jordan Spieth.
Bob married Marie Thompson on June 5, 1943. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2010 after 67 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Barbara (Denny) Falk, Nancy (Joe) Crosson, and Roberta Smith, also six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express appreciation to the physical therapists and occupational therapist as well as CNAs and nurses on “C” pod at George E Wahlen Veterans Home. Also to all staff at Peachtree Place Assisted Living for their loving care of our dad and to Bristol Hospice for their love and care. Especially Shawnee, who sat with family and offered comfort during Dad’s final hours.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden. Friends may visit family on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
