Robert M. Barton
1922-2007
KAYSVILLE – Robert Mark Barton, 85, passed away at his home in Kaysville, Utah on Thursday, October 4, 2007.
He was born April 28, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mark Rigby Barton and
Amanda Kaufman. He married Georgia Ashton of Salt Lake City, September 12, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were wed 59 years until the time of her passing.
He personally built his Kaysville home in 1954 and had lived there until the time of his death. His interests and hobbies were gardening, boating, extensive traveling, and spending time with his family.
He served a tour of duty in southern Italy in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was hired at Hill Air Force Base in 1945 as an aircraft mechanic after serving in the military. He also worked as chief of flight test, chief of base and transit, and in tech services, retiring in 1974 with 34 years of government service.
Bob was a member of the LDS Church and had served in various capacities, including executive secretary of the Kaysville LDS 9th Ward.
Bob is survived by his three children: Gloria Taylor, Farmington, UT; Mark (Vickie) Barton, Clinton, UT; Blair (Carol) Barton, Kaysville, UT; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East, Kaysville. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center.
