Robert Dee Berntson

Robert Dee Berntson, age 61, passed away September 3, 2018 due to unexpected complications from eye surgery.

He was born October 21, 1956 to Kenneth Berntson and Olive Ewer and raised in Logan, Utah.

Robert was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a mission for the Church in Copenhagen, Denmark. He also served in many callings, including the bishopric of the Bountiful 27th Ward when they lived there.

He worked at ATK/Thiokol on its rocket boosters for 20 years and was most recently employed at Westinghouse WZ in Ogden for 10 years as a Belt Sander assisting in the manufacture of nuclear reactor tubes.  He enjoyed working with his hands and was a dedicated worker.

Robert found great joy and happiness when he married Jana M. Newbold on October 22, 2010 in the Bountiful LDS Temple.  They had great love for one another and had wonderful plans for the future.  They complimented each other’s personalities and had a lot of fun together.  Everyone noticed what good care Robert gave to Jana.  They found great happiness together and enjoyed living first in Bountiful, and then in North Ogden.

Robert was a great provider and husband who loved to serve others.  He and Jana both enjoyed each other’s corny sense of humor.  They loved fishing together and Robert enjoyed his guns and loved his flip phone.  Nature brought him a lot of joy and he dreamed of owning a cabin by a lake. He enjoyed the simple things in life.

Robert enjoyed grilling hamburgers and steaks on his hibachi.  He and Jana enjoyed sitting around their fire pit on the patio in the evening.  Robert did not have the best green thumb, but he was really proud of the succulents that he created for the beautiful planters on their front porch.

His speaking voice was beautiful.  He always showed an interest in others and was a good listener.  People enjoyed being with him.

Robert is survived by his wife Jana, daughter Sara (Charles) Reese, son Luke, four grandchildren and seven siblings.  He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the North Ogden 6th Ward Chapel, 770 E. 2100 N.  North Ogden, Utah.  Friends may visit family Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah, and Saturday, Sept. 8th from 9:30 -10:30 am at the North Ogden 6th Ward Chapel prior to services.
