HUNTSVILLE a€" Robert "Rob" Laurence Burton, 60, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Rob was born November 5, 1950, to Dee and Ruth Burton. He grew up in Riverdale and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969.

He married his "sweetheart" Colleen Kelly in 1972. They were sealed in the Ogden LDS temple.

Rob was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many capacities within the church, but his favorite was working with the Young Men. He loved the Gospel with all his heart, and shared his testimony regularly with his children. He also spent countless hours as a soccer coach for the local teams. Rob would "coach" regardless if he was the coach or not.

Dad loved the outdoors immensely. He loved to go hunting and fishing as much as possible, although he was never very good at catching fish! He enjoyed camping and hiking. Mom and Dad hiked together above the Monastery and surrounding areas almost every day.

Rob was well known for his charity and service. He was always helping people in many different aspects. He literally devoted his entire life to others. Everything that Rob did was for others, especially for his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids who affectionately referred to him as "Papa Buddha." They loved his stories, fourwheeler rides, his cookies, but mostly his love.

Rob loved his wife more than anything. They were rarely apart, spending all their time together. They were an amazing example of how a marriage should be. He is deeply loved, and will be missed by his wife, Colleen Burton, his five children, Zach (Angie), Kelli (Adam), Jess (Brett), Jacob (Nicole), Randi (Rich), his seven grandchildren, four siblings, and many others influenced by Rob''s love and character.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4th at 11 a.m. at the Huntsville South Fork Ward Chapel, 7436 East 200 South, with Bishop Wes McKinney officiating.

His family will meet friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday, February 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday at the Ward Chapel from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
