Robert William Byrns Sr.
CLINTON - Our loving father, grandfather and uncle, Chief Master Sergeant Robert (Bob) William Byrns Sr. passed away of COPD peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1931 in Glen Cove, New York to William T. and Lillian Byrns. He joined the U.S. Air Force and retired from the 419th FW as an ART (Air Force Technician). He married Maria (Mary) Antonia Chavez on July 7, 1952.
Bob worked with many aircraft engineering on a C19 to a C-124. He also worked with the F105 and F16 Weapon System.
Bob was an expert marksman. He loved to fish and hunt. He spent many hunting trips just staying in the trailer and preparing breakfast for all his family and friends. Bob loved his monthly trips to Wendover or Elko playing the slots and visiting family. His greatest passion was driving. He loved the open road and he loved Nascar.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Mary, his four sons and two daughters: Robert W. Jr. (Cheryl), Ogden; Ronald (Caren), Sunset; Les (Cheri), Spring Creek, NV; Mike (Dea), Granada,California, Debbie Henseler (Steve), Spring Creek, NV, Tina Harrison (Fenner), Clearfield; his 11 grandchildren: Trinity, Stephanie, Ryan, Brooke, Trent, Bree, Morgan, Courtney, Michael, Jessica, Kandace and Baylee; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also survived by numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his very special dog, Guyrooch. Bob looked forward to seeing his deceased grandson Justin Quinn once again.
The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Encompass Hospice. They truly become part of your family and are extremely respectful to the dying. Tammy and the crew are the best!
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.
