Robert Asa Chase, 75, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 in West Jordan, Utah
He was born March 27, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Leland and Elise Christine Meredith Chase.
Married Leslie Ann on March 17, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He worked for 28 years and retired from the State of Utah as a Building Engineer. He then worked for Cottonwood Realty.
Pops love for his family is what kept him going. He was a devoted husband, soulmate, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother with a heart of gold. Pop followed his mothers Elise footsteps as a young man, enjoying classical music and ballet. He loved basketball, baseball, football and golf.
Pop grew up as a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Uruguay and Georgia. He studied at the U of U. Robert was an umpire for the ASA and American Legion Baseball Association, traveling to National Tournaments. He also was a Jr. Varsity referee for basketball and baseball. His love of sports led him to working with the Utah Jazz, Jazz Bear, “Bumble” for the Bees and Miller Motor Sports Racing.
Survived by his soulmate and bride Leslie A. Chase; three children Tony (Lou), Tami Lynn, Terri Lane; step-children Fawn Hoffman (Brandon), Rachelle M. Eberly (Will); brother Leland L. Chase, Jr. (Maureen); five grandsons, three granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Colonel Dean Chase “Deno” and grandson Billy Ray.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
