ROBERT CHRISTIAN “CHRIS” JONES

1976 – 2015

Robert Christian “Chris” Jones passed away August 31, 2015 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Chris was born to Gary R. and Kathryn K. Jones on May 15, 1976, in Long Beach, CA.  Our family moved to Bountiful in 1986 where Chris graduated from Bountiful High School.  Chris was currently attending Salt Lake Community College intent on becoming a registered nurse, a calling which was well suited to his tender heart and gentle manner.  Chris was employed at Lakeview Hospital and also worked as a professional painter.  Chris was engaged to Laura Fluhman and considered Laura’s daughter Sidney, whom he adored, to be his own.  Chris was very intelligent, energetic and loyal to friends and family whom he cherished.  Chris was an outgoing person who loved to fish with friends and had an encyclopedic mind when it came to sports and history.  Chris was a big time Philadelphia Eagles fan.

To say we will miss Chris is an underestimate of our sorrow.  Nothing will ever be the same without him and he will forever be in our hearts.  Chris is survived by his parents Gary and Kathryn, an older brother Gary Michael (Grace) Jones, grandmother Louise Karpowitz Kenfield, Laura and Sidney, four nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Buddy and “Lucy”.  Chris was welcomed to heaven by his favorite grandpa, Don Karpowitz.

A viewing will be held at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 E., Bountiful, UT, Tuesday, September 8th from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday September 9th from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will occur following cremation at Bluffdale City Cemetery at a later date.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com

In lieu of flowers an educational fund has been created for Sidney (Sidney Fluhman Educational Fund) at Mountain America Credit Union, Woods Cross, UT, which would be pleasing to Chris.
