Jon Robert Cowling, loving son and brother, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

He was born December 9, 1983 in Layton, Utah to Jon Ray and Karen Syphus Cowling. He grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Clearfield High School in 2001.

He completed a Composites Tech Certificate from D.A.T.C.

Robert was active in scouting and received his Eagle Scout.

He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and being with his family and friends. He loved being with his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas during family reunions and family get-togethers. He was talented with the use of his hands. He loved to build and to work with metal. With his brother, he enjoyed building trailers. He also worked with wood, building cabinets. He had a big heart and always loved to help out around the house. He loved to cook on the grill for his family and friends. He will be missed very much.

Robert is survived by his parents, a brother, Matthew and grandmother, Erma Harris, as well as other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo Syphus, Charles R. Cowling and Madge Kirby.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Clinton12th Ward Chapel, 1708 West 800 North. The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
