Robert Michael Dockstader

After months of battling extensive health problems, Bob returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

Robert Michael Dockstader was born July 10, 1956 in Ogden, Utah to Arlynn Henry and Marjorie Dockstader. He spent most of his youth in Roy then moved to Ogden where he graduated from Ogden High School.

Bob married the love of his life, Shelley Matteucci, on October 13, 1977 in the Ogden LDS Temple. After 34 years of marriage, they were still best friends. No matter where life took them, their favorite times were those spent together. They loved movies, reading to each other, and puttering around home.

His humor and quick wit kept everyone on their toes. Each year his very entertaining Christmas letter was eagerly anticipated by friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, brother, son-in-law and uncle. He will be greatly missed.

Bob graduated from Park College with a management degree. He worked for 26 years at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 2007. When asked what he did with all his time, he would reply, "Whatever I want!"

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Tokyo, Japan. He had many callings throughout his life, but his favorite was teaching Gospel Doctrine. His knowledge and testimony of the Gospel combined with his humor made us want to learn.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shelley, sisters, Cheryl Sherwood and Denise Dockstader, brother, Ronald and his wife Diane Dockstader, and mother-in-law, Kay Matteucci. Also surviving are many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, niece, Angela Hughes and nephew, Parker Allred.

His family expresses their thanks to the incredible, caring nurses and CNA''s at the Intermediate Care Unit at McKay-Dee Hospital. They surpassed every expectation in their kind and gentle care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19th at 2 p.m. at the Huckleberry Ward Chapel, 1285 South 2500 West, Syracuse.

The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Syracuse Cemetery.

"I love you more!"
