Robert O. Eames
SYRACUSE – Robert Orson Eames, 69, returned home to his Heavenly Father while at the farm doing what he loved best Monday, February 9, 2009.
He was born February 2, 1940 in Ogden the son of Rodney Elwin and Isabelle Bodily Eames.
He graduated from Davis High School and attended Weber State College and Utah Tech.
Robert married Linda Hansen on February 18, 1965 sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served in the Spanish American mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas and New Mexico.
Robert was a member of the Lions, 4H, FFA and enjoyed athletics, excelling in track and field.
Surviving are his wife Linda; children, Patrece (John) Degiorgio, West Weber; Ryan (Monica) Eames, Syracuse; Erika (Jon) Dangel, Syracuse; Randall Eames, Syracuse; eight grandchildren; mother, Isabelle; sisters Ellen Smedley and Sally Dobbins and brother Richard Eames.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, fair and honest in his business dealings and very compassionate and considerate of others. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and dancing with his sweetheart. He could either be found working on the farm, or going for a ride anywhere, anytime, with anyone, just to get a bite to eat, that’s just how Dad was.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Jensen Park Ward, 3024 So. 1200 W. Friends and family may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
